This Chapter finds Jeff and Kyle en route from Savannah to Charleston in a rental car. They are getting ‘boy’ time in as they travel to get final orders for the mission ahead. On the way, the stop for gas and they encounter a horrific event that they correct just in time. It makes you think…they are still good in them.
Well…am I right? What are your thoughts?
Despite this encounter, it is a beautiful autumn day. The summer days of heat and sun have given way to a beautiful, mild autumn day in Charleston. Cool crisp mornings announce the beginning of fall and the autumnal color change. Deep greens have begun to change to lighter shades of green, tinged with yellow. Sourwoods and dogwoods currently display the brightest colors as their deep crimson tones begin to pop against the mellow yellow-greens of the canopy. The sugar maples and redbuds are yellowing now and will continue to change in the coming days…it is fall.
In this Chapter, Kyle confesses his infatuations with Operational Field Commander Jameela. I thought the boys would get into a fist fight as teenagers often do over a girl they both like.
Jeff’s logic seemed to prevail… or did it?
Share your thoughts. Do you think the rumor is true…about Jameela?
At the beginning of their meeting, Jameela reminded them of the strength of prayer in the coming days and it is required that they read the preselected surahs (chapters) and ayat (verses).
The meeting…nuclear impact, blast zones, container ships and oil tankers. Can this happen? Your thoughts?
Red Mercury…is it real? I had a reader write me saying that ‘red mercury’ is a code word used in the USSR nuclear weapons program since the 1950s to describe enriched lithium-6. He says Lithium-6 has two nuclear weapons uses: as a reactor target for production of tritium, and in the form of lithium-6 deuteride as a thermonuclear weapon material. Yuri went on to say that the code name originated because mercuric impurities contaminate the lithium- 6 during production, giving it a red color. He told me that there is a fact that the USSR built a large complex in the early days of their nuclear weapon program to produce and stockpile Lithium-6. China took delivery of some quantities in the 1950s. the remainder…who knows?
Maybe it is better used to make electric cars nowadays?

The real issue here is Jeff’s courage. After Jameela’s discussion of countermeasures and issuing their final orders, she had a frank and personal discussion with Jeff and dinner. I do think that Jameela will kill him if she even dreams he would compromise the mission.
Well, …what do you think?
