While Tess is besting men at their own game at a tawdry bar in Chicago with her cousins, Aslan is on a mission a world away in the Mediterranean city of Izmir.
The Chapter opens with Aslan on a secured call with his High Commander Mustafa. Aslan is informed the command decision was made. Commande. Jeff was chosen as the Cruise Director for the Provenance. The mission in Fort Lauderdale is to deliver the news to Jeff.
What do you think will happen if Jeff refuses?
A few days later we find Tess and Aslan having an early dinner at a quaint restaurant in Old Lauderdale. As they wait for service, Tess mentioned she and Jameela ate at this same restaurant several years ago.
Does Tess know Aslan and Jameela are sister and brother?
What are two obvious reasons Tess should have figured this out by now?
We see 'Tommy' issues bubbling up. Jeff and Tommy in the same photos. What are the odds of that?
So Jeff arrives home several days later...late night. Jeff opens the door and hit the light switch. Two figures are sitting relaxed, waiting on him.
What was Jeff thinking as his heart raced at 1000 miles an hour?
We observe Tess outward hostility to Jeff. Aslan showed no resentment. yet, we were all surprised at Aslan actions when Jeff hesitated. Were you?
We look on hopelessly as Miami experiences a 4.7 earthquake. Aslan remained calm as Tess needed him to.
Tess has a growing attachment to Aslan. Will this effect mission effectiveness? What do you think?
This earthquake was an 'Oops?'" Are you kidding me?
